Top 5 tips for the use of relaxation music

Wednesday, April 4th, 2012

Music can help us remember people, places or emotions. Some of these memories may be good and some may be bad. Music can even stir up memories that we had otherwise forgotten about. This emotional response is a very strong one and by using it to good effect we can change the way we feel about certain situations. Relaxation music is readily available and comes in many different forms.

Find a darkened room and light some small candles or burn some incense oil if you find this relaxing. If you like calm classical music then this is fine to use. Obviously heavy rock is unlikely to calm you down but conversely the Relaxation music you use should be composed in a way that makes it easy to listen to and moderately upbeat. It shouldn’t just be background music; it should also catch your attention and the focus of your mind. Stresses of modern life mean that we regularly finish work and go home to worry about it for the rest of the day. This causes a lack of sleep and other problems.

Sleeping Pattern Disruptions as a Result of Alzheimer’s Disease

Monday, April 2nd, 2012

Although this may not be a problem for the patient their family and care givers may rapidly become drained and exhausted. People often assume that as we get older, we need less sleep which may be true for some people but the opposite is true for others as everyone establishes the sleep pattern that suits them. While the sleep needs of an Alzheimer’s disease sufferer may not change their sleep patterns can reverse making them noisy and disruptive by moving around the house during the night as if it is the daytime. It may also be tempting to let them sleep for long periods during the day to give the carer some respite to do chores, or even take a nap themselves. However, it’s much more appropriate to keep the Alzheimer’s sufferer gently active during the day as this is a good way of helping them to re-establish a sleeping pattern where they settle again at night. You should also make sure that other factors such as incontinence, night cramps or joint pain aren’t causing the restless nights. Night sitting services are available if a solution to a patient’s night activity can’t be found.

Even if a service like this can only be used for one or two nights a week, at least the carer is getting some quality sleep. You’re hungry after a busy day at work, itching to get home to see your family, and now you’re stuck in traffic. So you finally stroll into your house at 6:04 PM, your 2 young children are clamoring for your attention, and they’re hungry too. You pop some frozen dinners in the microwave knowing full well they’re not healthy, but also knowing that you just don’t have time to think, much less cook.

Effective uses of relaxation music

Thursday, March 29th, 2012

Horror films use Music to amazing effect by creating a sense of fear or foreboding and television adverts use them to promote items. Music can stir up memories but it can also be used to promote certain feelings. This is in no small way true of Relaxation music. The correct style of music can greatly aid Relaxation and assist in meditation, hypnosis or simple relaxing. Classical music utilizes the calming effects of string instruments like the violin and is probably one of the oldest and most utilized forms of relaxation music available. Relaxation is not something that comes naturally to many of us. Stresses of modern life mean that we regularly finish work and go home to worry about it for the rest of the day. This causes a lack of sleep and other problems. These are unlikely to be undone by listening to five minutes of relaxation music every three months. Even at work or at home with your family you can effectively listen to relaxation music. Find a darkened room and light some small candles or burn some incense oil if you find this relaxing.

Relaxation Music can only be thoroughly enjoyed if you loosen up and let go. Although relaxation music will help you relax, you need to really enjoy the moment to appreciate the experience. When you loosen up and let go you are able to breathe and have the time to experience the longevity and vibrancy of life. You may want to loosen up and let go but something stops you. Working as a volunteer, I teach relaxation by the bedside to heart, stroke and cancer patients in hospitals.

I noticed that there was a myth that was stopping people from loosening up and letting go.
